David Bannerman: Still a liar
Hi,it is now 7 or 8 years since I wrote and warned in public that David Bannerman was a fraud, a charlatan, a liar and a cheat - and of course he was also, like most of the Party a failed Tory.
At that time he was betraying The Tories and clearly telling lies to ingratiate himself with the gullible fools that lead and have led UKIP for so long.
I warned that when this ghastly little ingrate had exploited UKIP to get himself the first serious paying job his CV would seem to indicate he had EVER had and held - then he would again betray his benefactors and would decamp to his next personal stepping stone in another cloud of lies - UKIP as ever were too stupid and too lacking in leadership to act responsibly and sadly I have been left with the rather bitter taste of 'I told you so'.
We note that David Bannerman persists in telling his new Tory chums that his great uncle was Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman, the former liberal prime minister. He never gives up promoting that particular lie. He even told the BBC about this bogus claim at the time of his defection! LINK
Here are some of the facts:
Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman had no children. Bannerman is not his great, great nephew.
In any meaningful sence David Bannerman is absolutely no relation of Sir Robert Campbell Bannerna - he is just a fraud who has lied for his own gain.
Interestingly it is perfectly legal to use whatever name YOU choose under British law and to insert or remove hyphens or call yourself Michael, mick, Mike or Charlie whatever your birth certificate may say.
I have had passports, that all link quite legally Master G.L. Watkins (Gregory Lance Watkins), with a plethora of Watkins at school rather than be Watkins minimus, Watkins minor or Watkins Major I effected a hyphen and conjoined a family prename becoming Greg Lance-Watkins (only people who don't know me have ever called me Gregory since I was about 6, quite handy as it differentiates immediately between those who know me and those who know little or nothing about me!).
My next passport was Mr. G. Lance-Watkins on the outside and Mr. Gregory Lance-Watkins inside.
My present passport of a few weeks ago is Gregory Lance Watkins - though correctly known as Greg Lance-Watkins on all other Government documents (my choice).
I make this point rather tediously to show that there is no problem legally in using other names - where David Bannerman falls foul of the law is he uses false names as aliases with the intent to lie, cheat, defraud and mislead as evidenced - This would seem to fit well with the political standards of both The Tories and UKIP - not for a moment to attribute one wit of integrity to any political party as they seem to have absolutely none!
It is clearly a criminal offence to make such changes of name with the intent to defraud or mislead, as has David Bannerman.
On Bannerman’s Bombay birth certificate his first names are David Campbell and his surname is Bannerman. He used to be known as David Bannerman. When he stood in Scotland (1997) it suddenly became David Campbell-Bannerman (with a hyphen). See: LINK

A New Chairman
As some of you may have heard, UKIP has a new party chairman who will take office in January. David Campbell-Bannerman, a great nephew of former Liberal Prime Minister Henry Campbell-Bannerman. David is a senior PR consultant who is looking forward to taking up this new challenge. David contested North Cornwall for UKIP at the general election earlier this year. The January issue of Independence will feature more on David, but for now I am sure you will join me in wishing him all the best.
David Bannerman's CV when checked would seem to indicate absolutely no track record as a 'Senior PR', the closest would seem to be when a large company had effectively gone bust he seems to have jumped into a short term job as the senior management disassociated themselves from the debacle and dumped their jobs on the gullible greedy and unemployable to preserve their own names.
The dishonest ingrate David Bannerman, whose ONLY possibly true claim to any relationship with Sir Robert or his office was that David' claimed Father, who died just before Christmas owned a desk claimed to belong to Sir Henry. May I stress that although I own a letter from Lord Palmerston, had the sale manifesto of a cargo of slaves bought from a black trader in Sierra Leone and sold on the block in St. Helena, own the sword of surrender of the Nazi commander of The Luftwaffe in Poland, an original Piccasso, hold the original cheque from Fenemore-Cooper to pay for publication of one of his books as mentioned in his diary and a few other interesting items I am in no way related to any of these people!
David Bannerman has deliberately lied to defraud and mislead which is a criminal act. He also has said:
"I have explained on numerous occasions that C-B had no children, but that my link to him is through the Bannerman side"and also
"Technically the link is actually great great great nephew".
If the first of these statements is true, the second must be untrue. The Liberal Prime Minister Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman was born Henry Campbell. His mother was a Janet Bannerman, whose relation left Sir Henry a fortune on condition that he adopted the Bannerman name. Therefore if David Bannerman's link to Sir Henry is through the Bannerman side, he cannot be Sir Henry's nephew or any other kind of descendant. The closeset he can be is a Bannerman first cousin many generations removed.
Even that is in doubt when you consider the possible reason for the uncle foisting his name on his relation Janet's husband, Henry Campbell, the apparent reason being that he had no male heir of his own to carry on the Bannerman family name.
It would seem that there is a possibility of blood relationship with Janet Bannerman from a distant branch of her ancestors which were unrelated since the early 1800s or even the late 1700s. It would seem that the only possible heir to this side directly descended was a brother or nephew who the patriarch of that line was unwilling to bequeath his estates to as he was I gather a hopeless hapless drunk.
Mr. Bannerman left his estates to Sir Henry Campbell on condition that he adopted his wife's maiden name for usage - a style I gather his wife never adopted.
That would make David Bannerman's relationship to Sir Henry (if one exists at all) even more distant, at closest a Bannerman second cousin several times removed.
Regarding Bannerman, the above suggests that his surname is really Bannerman and that Campbell is a given prename name which he now uses as if it were part of his surname. Whilst this does not rule out a very distant relationship to Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman, it doesn't prove one either.The delays in register of young David Campbell's birth in The India Book could equally well indicate his illegitimacy as the possible son of a servant girl adopted by an infertile mother or vica versa.
